These orchids grow in dry meadows, open woods and sunny places, usually in calciferous soil. They like warmth.

This plant was photographed a week later than the one above. Many more flowers were fully open.

Epipactis Helleborine - head - 1 Week Later

The same flower head as above but 1 week later. Many more flowers were fully open and all were much pinker. It is definitely not Epipactis atrorubens.

Epipactis flowers - closeup

This orchid was photographed in mid-July, in open beech woods on calciferous rocks. It might be Epipactis muelleri but the leaves seemed broader than other plants seen that day (see above) and the flower petals seems longer and thinner.
